Pollyanna of the Orange Blossoms by Harriet Lummis First edition, May 1924 of the third book in Smith's beloved Pollyanna series. Octavo, original publisher's cloth lettered & illustrated by Weston Taylor. Considered a classic of children's literature, Eleanor H. Porter's 1913 novel Pollyanna was succeeded by twelve Pollyanna sequels, known as the "Glad Books", most of them written by Elizabeth Borton or Harriet Lummis Smith. The series had been cheap adapted for the stage & screen several times, some of the best known being the 1920 version starring Mary Pickford, & Disney's 1960 version starring child actress Hayley Mills, who won a special Oscar for the role. Size of book: 7 1/2" x 5". Blue cloth with color pictorial paste-on to front cover.
